PointSource communicates directly with and controls a NIST-certified Sound Level Meter and Class 1 microphone and a new, specially modified 2000 W peak loudspeaker. The speaker driver incorporates the high-output 8” woofer and 1.75” compression driver into a compact common-magnet design capable of providing over 125 dB SPL with less than 1% THD. The system performs a series of guided tests using precise distances and SPL amplitude measurements. The unit uses test results and performs various calculations to derive an STC and NIC values that can be saved and/or printed.
